The Roger Groult family distillery is situated at the heart of the Pays d’Auge in Normandy. In 1860, Pierre Groult began distilling cider and aging the eau de vie in oak barrels. Thanks to his meticulous production methods as well as the magnificent terroir at his hands, his Calvados quickly gained a good reputation. He won his first gold medal in 1893. Five generations on, the estate is managed by Pierre’s great-great-grandson, Jean-Roger Groult, who has maintained ancestral production methods as well as created original award-winning cuvées that are now found in 38 countries.
