Winemaker's notes:An “haute couture” wine, a tiny production made only during exceptional vintages. Alpha-Omega is the perfect combination of two grape varieties, two emblematic plots of the “La Verde” vineyard, and two style of winemaking. Old Grenache vines on sandy soil and old Syrah on a limestone area of the estate.
Grape Varieties: 50% Grenache, 50% Syrah
Aging:50% Grenache in concrete tank to preserve its character, 50% Syrah raised for 16 months in new oak barriques.
What the critics say: “Boasting rich blackberry and plum flavors but crisply balanced in acidity, this opulent red offsets the plumminess of Grenache with Syrah's fire and spice. It's forward and fruity but elegant too, finishing long on fine, smooth tannins. Ready now–2025.” 91 points. – Anna Lee C. Ijima, Wine Enthusiast

Domaine de la Verdeis situated in western Vacqueyras, overlooking the Ouvèze River, against a backdrop of the Dentelles de Montmirail and Mount Ventoux. Spread across a single vineyard exclusively on lieu-dit La Verde, the estate's vines average 45 years, though some parcels are 80-100 years old. The soils are clay-limestone, with layers of galets (small river stones). Yields are low (18 - 34 hl/ha, depending on the cuvée). Low rainfall and abundant sunshine enable the grapes to ripen to perfect maturity, while the Mistral winds sweep away all excess humidity after the rain – a microclimate that imparts elegance and aromatic finesse to the wines.
