The Solera Familiar series is Bodegas Gutierrez Colosia’s version of a VORS (“Vinum Optimum Rare Signatum” – Wine Selected as Optimal and Exceptional – aka "Very Old Rare Sherry”). It comes from the oldest soleras at GC and is bottled in extremely small quantities each year.
Winemaker notes: Dry, with rich complex character and dark amber color. Aged in oak with the traditional system of soleras and criaderas in our wine cellar – located since 1838 on the shoreline of the Guadalete river. The breezes from the Atlantic provide the perfect microclimate for making Jerez.
“...Potentially Gutierrez’s finest wine: demanding in its concentration and grip, it shows a flor-derived complexity under its pronounced notes of oxidative aging, finishing with long, incisive aromas” – Peter Liem

Bodegas Gutiérrez Colosía is a family-owned sherry operation located on the banks of the Guadalete River, close to where it empties into the Bay of Bajamar. Its proximity to the ocean provides the perfect humidity for flor to thrive.
